"Two Ghosts" is a song performed by Harry Styles. It serves as the fourth track from Harry's self-titled album, Harry Styles. It was released as the second single on August 8, 2017.
Background[]
The song was announced as the second single from the album on July 6, 2017. It was released on August 8, 2017.
Critical Reception[]
Variety writer Eve Barlow stated:
"Apparently Nicholas Sparks’ novels inspired much of the songwriting on this debut, and it’s very easy to imagine an extended hyper emotional scene from “The Notebook” in the background while listening to Styles unwind this tragic, mystifying tale." [1]
Music video[]
A live in studio version of Two Ghosts was released on Harry's VEVO account on August 31, 2017. The performance is a part of Styles's documentary. The official music video was recorded during 2018-2019 but for unknown reasons it was never released. However, video clips were used during the Harry Styles: Live on Tour.[2]
Lyrics[]
Same lips red, same eyes blue
Same white shirt, couple more tattoos
But it's not you and it's not me
Tastes so sweet, looks so real
Sounds like something that I used to feel
But I can't touch what I see
We're not who we used to be
We're not who we used to be
We're just two ghosts standing in the place of you and me
Trying to remember how it feels to have a heartbeat
The fridge light washes this room white
Moon dances over your good side
This was all we used to need
Tongue-tied like we've never known
Telling those stories we already told
'Cause we don't say what we really mean
We're not who we used to be
We're not who we used to be
We're just two ghosts standing in the place of you and me
We're not who we used to be
We're not who we used to be
We're just two ghosts swimming in a glass half empty
Trying to remember how it feels to have a heartbeat
We're not who we used to be
We're not who we used to be
We're just two ghosts standing in the place of you and me
We're not who we used to be
We don't see what we used to see
We're just two ghosts swimming in a glass half empty
Trying to remember how it feels to have a heartbeat
Trying to remember how it feels to have a heartbeat
I'm just trying to remember how it feels to have a heartbeat
